Now you can be Balmain-ized from the tips of your $600 couture clip-ins (Balmain Hair Couture) to your nails. Vogue U.K. reports that Balmain is launching a limited-edition nail-polish collection, available exclusively at Harvey Nichols. The collection is best described with a word never associated with Balmain: minimalist. It features three primary glossy shades: rouge (scarlet red), noir (black), and nude (a blend of pink and beige.) To make your Balmain manicure even more unobtrusive, it also includes a matte top coat.
The nail-polish news appears to be another baby step that Balmain is making into beauty licensing. In addition to the nail polish and couture clip-ins, they also have a hair-care line available at Colette Paris, which includes a volumizing and hydrating shampoo and conditioner, and a hair mask. Now that nail art has been declared dead by Women’s Wear Daily (twice now) and Balmainia appears to have slightly waned, will Balmainail-ia happen?
