John Galliano Won a Minor Victory in His Protracted Lawsuit: In the long legal battle waged by John Galliano against his former employer, Dior, Friday marked a minor victory: The designer won the right to have his case heard in French labor court. He’s reportedly seeking 6 million euros — or $8.4 million — for his dismissal from the company in March 2011. In the ruling, WWD reports, several e-mails between Galliano and LVMH chairman and CEO Bernard Arnault were read, including a 2006 letter in which Arnault chastised the designer for making the image of Dior “eccentricity and extravagance” rather than “sophistication and refinement.” [WWD]
