The latest inductee welcomed into the haute couture clan is the Paris-based designer Bouchra Jarrar. Though Jarrar has been showing her streamlined, minimal, and elegant creations during couture week since 2010, she was strictly presenting as a guest. WWD reports that France’s Chambre Syndicale granted Jarrar with the official haute couture appellation this week, making Bouchra Jarrar the newest couture designer in an elite class of fifteen. Style.com also notes that she is the only female designer out of the couture bunch.
