Here’s the latest in what’s beginning to sound like the Complete Fashion Week Makeover: In addition to fancy new show spaces and probably fewer seats for fashion bloggers, the harrowing Fashion Week calendar is going to make much more sense. Ruth Finley, who has been diligently keeping track of fashion events since 1941, will collaborate with the CFDA to overhaul the Fashion Week schedule, WWD reports. The CFDA teaming up with the Ruth Finley Fashion Calendar will likely mean more logical time slots for designers, and hopefully, fewer clashes in show times. According to Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, the collaboration will help people navigate the logistical nightmare that is Fashion Week, “both on the front end in the schedule so there is some rhyme and reason to the very full calendar, but also, equally as important, for the users of Fashion Week.” Can we count you on you, Ruth, for fewer 8 a.m. shows?
