Changes are afoot at Louis Vuitton now that Nicolas Ghesquière has officially taken the helm. Most notably, Julie de Libran, the studio director of women’s ready-to-wear, has announced her departure, reports WWD.
De Libran is credited with much of the success of Vuitton’s RTW and was known as Marc Jacobs’ second-in-command since she joined the company in 2008.
As the incoming creative director, Ghesquière is set to reveal his first collection during Paris Fashion Week — and has already brought on several of his own creative hires since taking the position. Sources tell WWD that in the turnover, de Libran’s position was rendered somewhat obsolete. No news yet as to where de Libran is headed next, though her contract under LVMH may dictate she stick with the conglomerate by working for another luxury brand.
