Last night, Lady Gaga and Donatella Versace continued celebrating their mutual-appreciation society at the Atelier Versace spring 2014 haute couture presentation. Versace kicked off the couture schedule with the roar of Gaga’s “Aura” and a lineup of fierce and flashy evening gowns cast in slinky silhouettes. The high-voltage show featured other tracks from Artpop, including “Donatella.” The lyrics: “I’m blonde, I’m skinny, I’m rich, and I’m a little bit of a bitch” blared as fur stoles and jackets literally flew down the runway — and models left wafts of fur in their wake.
The singer sat front row in a dress from the collection, and she looked uncannily like Versace herself, with the same platinum hair and kohl-rimmed eyes. The models also had identical hair and makeup, so it was difficult to distinguish between the designer and her muse. But those sleek hoods and the final look — a black evening gown with armorlike beading — were pure Grace Jones.
