The Scrunchie Chronicles’ and Other Would-be Titles of Hillary Clinton’s Memoir

Hillary Clinton’s hair — with its Oscar de la Renta–suggested length and nationally adored bangs — already occupies a significant segment of Clinton’s biography.

She knows you love to talk about her clips and her scrunchies and what not, but you know, the joke is on you, admirers of Clinton’s hair apparatuses; She is not entitling her memoir to your taste. In an excerpt from her memoir, she writes:

When I began this book, shortly after leaving the State Department, I considered a number of titles. Helpfully, the Washington Post asked its readers to send in suggestions. One proposed ‘It Takes a World,’ a fitting sequel to ‘It Takes a Village.’ My favorite was ‘The Scrunchie Chronicles: 112 Countries and It’s Still All about My Hair.’

Perhaps 112 Pantsuits and It’s Still All About All the Countries I Wore Them To? No? That’s not even on the short list? Okay, that’s fine.

Well, it’s evident Clinton had a pile of wonderful options, because she entitled her memoir Hard Choices.
