Attention, all men: Next spring, you will be wearing … allover silver body paint, if Rick Owens has anything to say about it. The provocateur showed his men’s collection in Paris today, and the lineup included several models who were coated in the stuff, living-statue-style. Luckily, that gimmick didn’t entirely distract from the clothes — Owens alternated between the oversize-cassock shapes he’s known for and Grecian-style sashes or single-shoulder harnesses. Owens was strongest when he focused on these unusual silhouettes; the Basquiatesque illustrations covering a few looks proved more distracting than engaging. And his slouchy, almost-winged boots were a welcome add-on. (As for the body paint, we can’t see this look catching on, but if he can make pilgrim-shoes-slash-sneakers happen, who knows?)
