Hood by Air designer Shayne Oliver is joining a group of 100 “makers,” including Laurie Anderson and Rafael de Cárdenas, for the Museum of Art and Design’s just-opened “NYC Makers” biennial. The exhibit, which runs through October 12, features everything from hats by up-and-coming milliner Heidi Lee to scratch-and-sniff wallpaper by Flavor Paper to the Metropolitan Opera’s set design for Die Fledermaus. Also on display: HBA’s parachute jacket and shorts from the spring 2014 collection — worthy of the museum treatment, if you ask us. If only Oliver’s take on Timberlands had gotten its own spot on the pedestal.
