Today, NBA player Russell Westbrook of Oklahoma Thunder released an exclusive collaboration with Barneys and Jordan, trading his love for Rick Owens drop-crotch pants in favor of a snugger fit — the collection includes tights (multicolored, animal printed, and $165 a pair). Although athletic tights are commonly styled under shorts, as seen on Westbrook in the look book, it’s only a matter of time before they break into the wild as a fashion statement on their own. For starters, the fashionable DJ Diplo already braved the look.
