You’ve got to hand it to Apple, because it appears to understand the fashion demographic better than expected. Yesterday, the company held a special Apple Watch preview at Paris’s perennially hip boutique Colette.
According to TechCrunch, alongside fanboys, a handful of fashion editors and designers attended — Anna Wintour, Suzy Menkes, Karl Lagerfeld, and Anna Dello Russo among them — and were able to try it on. (This is the first time the smartwatch has appeared in public since last month’s keynote.)
Jury’s still out on whether this will be a mass-market hit, but the Collete-and-double-Anna situation will at least ensure that the Apple Watch reaches “ubiquitous street-style accessory” status next season.
