Carolina Herrera Thinks New Yorkers Are Slobs

Carolina Herrera may be a New Yorker, but that doesn’t mean she is a cheerleader for New York style. “If you look at the people walking around the streets of New York at this moment, it is horrendous!” the designer told the September issue of Haute Living magazine.” “I have never seen people so badly dressed in my life! It’s amazing the way they look! I don’t know why … I don’t know what’s going on … but it’s really, really bad.” Crop tops, in particular, come in for some ire: “When you are very young and you have a wonderful figure you can pull it off,” she says, “but whenever I see this style, it’s usually on the wrong person.” Maybe Herrera should just give these huddled, crop-topped masses tickets to her show on Monday so they can learn how it’s done.
