
It’s been six years since we’ve seen Gemma Ward — who took a hiatus from modeling in 2008 — walk down a runway. But today she appeared in Prada’s spring/summer 2015 show in Milan, opening the show in a knee-grazing navy coat with gray socks.
Naturally, Twitter freaked out about it pretty quickly:
Ward, now 26, became the youngest model to ever appear on the cover of American Vogue at 16. By 2006, she reportedly earned as much as $25,000 to walk in a show. After the death of her partner Heath Ledger in 2008, she took a break from fashion. Soon after, she had a baby girl, Naia, and tried out acting, appearing as a mermaid in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
While there’s no official word yet on whether Ward is going full swing back into modeling, there’s hope — IMG, her agency, tweeted this today:
