Last night, in front of Katie Holmes, Anna Wintour, and 600 other decoratively decked-out New Yorkers, Valentino presented its first-ever collection in New York — a spectacle held at the Whitney Museum in honor of the brand’s sparkling new Fifth Avenue flagship. Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s 47-look collection was pitch-perfect (especially given the snow swirling outside): Everything was white. There were white turtlenecks, delicate white lace dresses, white miniskirts — even white, Solange-y wedding capes. We’re putting our money on it now: One of these looks is bound to show up on a red carpet come Oscar season.
