Thirteen students (including “three courageous boys”) at Colorado College spent an entire semester analyzing the movie Mean Girls. The class, “Queen Bees, Wannabes and Mean Girls,” was not just an excuse to watch the movie 25 times; it’s a rigorous comp-lit course that explores the “motives behind why women seek authority and the actions they are willing to take in order to hold onto it,” says the New York Post. Potential syllabus: Machiavelli’s The Prince, an etymological study of fetch, and the hidden symbolism of wearing pink on Wednesdays.
