Amouage’s latest scent is called Sunshine, although I’m not entirely sure why. Yes, it’s bright and flowery but, with some distinct leather and tobacco notes, it’s much more complicated than the boring midday sun. At first spray, Sunshine starts fruity and rich, like a great cocktail. But after a while, the smell of something darker, like cigar smoke, seeps through. Do you remember those old Western films, where the cowboy rides off in the dusk? That’s how Sunshine feels — like the sun setting on a really great day.
