One of Lupita Nyong’o’s carefully Instagrammed awards-show outfits has apparently fallen victim to larceny. TMZ reports that an unknown villain made away with the pearl-encrusted Calvin Klein Collection gown the actress wore on Sunday’s Oscars red carpet. (We’ve reached out to the brand for a comment on the matter and will update this when we hear back.)
The dress, worth $150,000, is encrusted with 6,000 pearls. It was lifted from Nyong’o’s room at the London Hotel sometime on Tuesday, according to TMZ’s source, who adds that the LAPD is combing security footage for evidence of theft and/or mustache twirling.
