We first heard about Rihanna’s Dior ads when the pop star was conveniently glimpsed shooting at Versailles with photographer Steven Klein in March. At the time, we only had word that photos would be out later in the spring. Well, spring is now here, and images from the “Secret Garden” campaign are popping up like crocuses. They depict Rihanna discreetly showing off her tattoos in a fur-vest-and-gloves ensemble accessorized with the Diorama bag, and tearing up the Hall of Mirrors in a red gown. The ads aren’t just striking; they mark a milestone, since Rihanna is the first black woman to front the French house.
