World Cup powerhouse Carli Lloyd announced today that she’ll be releasing a memoir through Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, scheduled to be released in the fall of 2016. The book, according to HMH’s press release, will cover Lloyd’s journey from young soccer star to almost quitting the game to becoming the incredible athlete that she is today — an athlete who scored a hat trick to bring the U.S. Women’s National Team to victory in this year’s World Cup final.
It goes without saying that Lloyd is exceptional. A two-time Olympic gold medalist, the captain of the U.S. Women’s National Team (with which she has scored 65 goals), a local New Jersey hero, and a philanthropist with Habitat for Humanity, Lloyd will surely make for a good memoir subject. Though the book is currently untitled, might we suggest a few options, Ms. Lloyd?
