While the majority of America’s population spent this past weekend relaxing before launching into mid-September, Beyoncé — as is her wont — worked harder than ever, performing a much-talked-about show at the Made in America festival in Philly. And the seemingly inexhaustible pop star took the opportunity to align herself with the similarly unstoppable Ronda Rousey.
Before Beyoncé launched into a full-band version of her swaggerish hit “Diva,” Ronda Rousey’s words about female empowerment flashed across the screen. Beyoncé, as if it weren’t obvious, is not a Do Nothing Bitch, which is “the kind of chick that just tries to be pretty and be taken care of by somebody else,” according to Rousey. Video from the event was shared by UFC president Dana White, and it adds to the list of moments in which Beyoncé has demonstrated that strong women stick together.
