Marc Jacobs’s last show was a theater-themed extravaganza complete with popcorn, playbills, an orchestra, a red carpet, and some minor drama: A dress from the collection showed up an hour after the show had finished. (The Lesage embroidery took a little longer than expected.) Still, it made a fittingly dramatic debut this past weekend on Cate Blanchett, who wore the gown to accept the Desert Palm Achievement Award for her role in Carol at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Awards in California.
