As a model, your body comes in for a lot of scrutiny. Perhaps no one understands this more than Crystal Renn, who was lauded as one of the first high-fashion “plus-size models” until she disavowed the term “plus-size” and lost some weight. Since then, the fashion world has seemed a little confused about how to categorize her, but Redken just signed her as the face of its new Chromatics Ultra Rich professional hair-color line, adding her to a stable of muses like Lea T, Soo Joo Park, Suki Waterhouse, and Amber Le Bon. The hair brand lauded Renn, who is also an astrologer, author, and body-image advocate, as a “boundary breaker.” Her ads launch later this year.
