The battle against aging is never-ending, but a new era of awesome women, from Nicola Griffin, in an ad in the SI Swimsuit Issue, to Susan Sarandon, to Kim Gordon, prove you might only get cooler the older you get. Instead of clinging to youth by erasing wrinkles and dying grey hair and learning about new apps (Snapchat is still cool, right?), take the example set by these women, and now Jane Fonda, and embrace the march of time.
“You could not pay me to be young again,” Fonda told the Daily Mail. “I actually felt I started to get old at seven. By the time I was 20, I hated how old I was then. At 30, I was ancient, I saw no future for myself.” But don’t worry, all you thirtysomethings! There is hope. You just have to soldier through another thirty years of life to get there. “After I turned 60, I began to understand who I was, and I became young again,” Fonda explained. “Now I’m in sight of my 80th birthday and feeling pretty good about life!”
