Not too long after signing Soo Joo Park, the brand’s first Asian-American face, L’Oréal Paris announced that Chinese model Xiao Wen Ju is joining its roster. The Chinese model, known for her psychedelic Vogue Italia cover and promoting Zoolander 2’s impromptu takeover of Paris Fashion Week, will be a fixture in L’Oréal’s upcoming Studio Pro hair campaign. She joins a few L’Oréal Paris veterans in the ad, including Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, and Liya Kebede. While she’s not the first Chinese face of the brand (actress Fan Bingbing appears in ads overseas), it’s a sign that the wave of diversity in the industry continues to flow in a positive direction. Here’s to hoping she’ll bring her signature (and delightful) brand of quirkiness to the beauty titan.
