Instead of following the trend of street-cast models, J.Crew chose models from its own directory instead. The brand cast friends of the brand, ages 13 to 70, including J.Crew staffers and journalists to model the spring/summer collection.
While J.Crew isn’t the first to cast chic civilians this season, it is the only to use non-model friends of the brand. Perhaps “modeling opportunities” will be added just below “dental insurance” on the company’s list of staff benefits.
