When Kanye West tweeted about getting rid of his phone because he “needed air to create,” that may not have just been a Kanye-ism to stand alongside his requests for fur pillows and marble conference tables. According to “Page Six,” West had a “massive meltdown” after American Horror Story: Roosevelt Island Smallpox Hospital, also known as his ill-received Yeezy Season 4 fashion show, and dismissed his staff of 30 via his agent. He also “got rid of his phone so people can only contact him via e-mail,” according to the column’s “insider.” Another, more tempered insider seemed to be saying that the phone incident wasn’t that big of a deal: “He always does that.”
