Robots walked the Chanel show in Paris today, transforming the city’s Grand Palais into a futuristic digital vortex. Karl Lagerfeld infused some retro surprises, like Full House side ponytails. Below, everything we know about the show.
The digital theme began with the invitations — interlaced C’s as frayed wires.

Along the Champs-Élysées, the ornate Grand Palais had become the Data Center Chanel, a gleaming white space framed by digital control panels and colorful wires. Computer processors were repurposed as aisleways.

House favorites and celebrities were everywhere, of course: Usher next to Lily-Rose Depp in the front row, Soko, Carla Bruni, Roger Federer, Courtney Love, and her daughter, Frances Bean Cobain.

A Chanel “Cocobot” opened the show wearing a classic Chanel suit, helmet, and plastic robot hands and boots. (Bonus for this model, anonymous blessed soul: no makeup.) Arizona Muse was next while the soundtrack mixed techno music with disco.
This collection was colorful, crafted in a range of looser silhouettes. Models wore miniskirts and dresses layered over slips, kilts, and lingerie tap shorts. Edie Campbell, Soo Joo Park, Catherine McNeil, Lindsey Wixson, and Louise Parker all walked.

Digital breakdown was woven into the clothes: Some laser prints in pink, blue, black, and white looked like computer static. Tufted jackets evoked the frayed ends of cable wires.

Models donned baseball hats worn off-kilter with retro side ponytails by Chanel hairstylist Sam McKnight (yes: Full House). The statement jewelry: medallion necklaces and oversize earrings.

For shoes, models wore sock booties, block-heeled pumps, and Chanel ballet flats.

There were robot purses and LED portfolio bags that actually light up.
And you can add these Chanel Matrix sunglasses to your wish list.

Karl Lagerfeld closed the show and, naturally, posed with the Cocobots.
