Laverne Cox is the first openly transgender model to be on the cover of Cosmopolitan — in a selection of stunning bodysuits, no less. The actress, known for her role in Orange Is the New Black, is featured on the cover of Cosmopolitan South Africa’s February 2018 issue with the tagline “#SayYestoLove.”
Inside a letter for the magazine, Cox wrote, “Trans women deserve to be loved out in the open and in the light.” It’s not the first time Cox has been the first transgender woman on a magazine cover — in 2014 (right at the height of the Orange Is the New Black craze) she was featured on Time magazine’s cover.
