If there’s one thing big-boy Donald Trump loves just as much as playing with trucks, it’s watching military parades. So it should come as no surprise that the president wants one for himself.
Back in July, the clap-happy president watched France’s Bastille Day military parade with what can only be described as childlike glee. Now, the Washington Post reports Trump has ordered the Pentagon to plan a parade to showcase U.S. military powers in Washington as well — and the event will likely happen later this year. Per the Post:
“The marching orders were: I want a parade like the one in France,” said a military official who spoke on the condition of anonymity because the planning discussions are supposed to remain confidential. “This is being worked at the highest levels of the military.”
Of course, the parade — which will cost “millions” — is still in the “brainstorming” stage. White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders confirmed plans are underway. “President Trump … has asked the Department of Defense to explore a celebration at which all Americans can show their appreciation,” she told the Post.
We can’t wait to watch Trump count all the big tanks in the parade.
