Yes, barrettes are happening. Little hair doodads are officially a thing — at least according to street style. In the past few days, New York Fashion Week attendees have been getting Clippy like they’re a Microsoft Office 2000 Virtual Assistant.
The barrettes are worn simply, at the hairline or close to the ears, with the hair pinned back to one side. Some are festooned with pearls, some are metallic, and some even spell out rhinestoned words like “Feelings” or “Damn.” It’s a sweet way to change up your hair — and to catch the eye of Instagram or a street-style photographer.
