Back in 2019, Pete Davidson kicked off a prodigious year of serial monogamy with British actress Kate Beckinsale. The two were first spotted at a Golden Globes after-party in January, and broke up around April following some serious PDA at a hockey game.
Beckinsale has mostly been out of the spotlight since then. That’s until last night’s Golden Globes, where she was seen appearing to leave an after-party with none other than rapper Machine Gun Kelly (who, incidentally, looks exactly like Pete Davidson). “Page Six” correctly notes that Machine Gun Kelly (a.k.a. Colson Baker) and Davidson are best friends; the rapper and comedian are frequently interviewed as a duo, where they often discuss their mutual penchant for things like SpongeBob and Mötley Crüe.
Early in her career, Beckinsale dated British actor Michael Sheen, with whom she has a child. She married director Len Wiseman in 2004, and he filed for divorce 2016. But recent evidence would suggest that Beckinsale has a new type — or, at the very least, that her tastes have adjusted to a very specific variety of man.
Since her divorce from Wiseman she’s been linked to a series of actor-comedians (and now, rappers) who have somewhat similar characteristics: They are youngish, funny, and look like Eminem. There was 21-year-old comedian Matt Rife in 2017, and then another comedian, Jack Whitehall, in 2018. 2019, of course, was the year of Pete Davidson, and now — if the rumors are true — 2020 will be Machine Gun’s time to shine.
And honestly, even if you can’t get behind Beckinsale’s particular taste, you have to applaud her range.
