A Normal People Horny Cut Is Making the Rounds Online

Just the sexy bits. Photo: Hulu

Earlier this month, our comrades over at Vulture made a sexy pitch: Normal People — a TV adaptation of Sally Rooney’s novel, which you may now associate with unabashed lustiness — but only the horny bits. Just a compilation of the make-out scenes, the bedroom scenes, and however many smoldering glances between Marianne, Connell, and Connell’s chain you need to carry you from one foxy interlude to the next. A popular concept, as it turns out.

According to Variety, someone, we know not who, created a 22-minute compilation of all Normal People’s sex scenes and posted it to Pornhub. Naturally, the show’s producers are not happy and hit the tube site with a take-down request. Although Pornhub cooperated, the video — henceforth called the Horny Cut — is still circulating online.

“We’re hugely disappointed that excerpts from the series of Normal People have been used in this way,” Ed Guiney, one of the show’s executive producers and co-founder of Element Pictures, told Variety. “It’s both a violation of copyright and more importantly, it’s deeply disrespectful to the actors involved and to the wider creative team.”

In a separate statement, Pornhub VP Corey Price said the site is “fully compliant with the law” and removes pirated videos from its platform as soon as it catches wind of them. Many other sites will do the same, but that removal process can take time. Meanwhile, the content gets continually reposted, multiplying like mold spores on shower grout. Meaning the Horny Cut is still out there, and probably will be for quite some time. What is horn may never die.
