Nobody has an Instagram presence quite like Tinkcolorful. There are photos of her modeling and dancing, but mostly, there are pictures of her in clown makeup. (“Ⱨ₳₱₱ł Đ₳ ₭ⱠØ₩₦” is the name in her bio.) She’s also got a way with hashtags — #dancingclown, #clowngirl, #nycartist, #badbitch, #mommy — and favors unique spellings, like “kool” for “cool.”

The artist and soon-to-be mother of two children says she’s a “one-stop shop for all your creative needs.” She can tattoo, do hair, model, and, of course, paint faces. She was a model in Hardeman’s autumn/winter 2020 presentation and in jewelry designer Alan Crocetti’s To The Core campaign, which honored unique bodies, stories, and life paths. The Cut spoke with her about cats, naps, and break dancing.

What does cool mean to you?
Kool to me is effortlessness, like you just are who you are, no matter what. Being eccentric is kool. Most of all, being your true self is the koolest thing you can do.

What three creative people have had the most impact on you and why?
I really can’t narrow it down to just three but I would say my mother, father, and my mema. They gave me the swag and knowledge that make me who I am today.

What three fictional characters do you relate to most?
Spongebob, Nola from She’s Gotta Have It, and Issa from Insecure.

What kind of animal would you be and why?
I would be a cat (big or house). I just love them. You can be scared of them or even obsessed. They are super loving and very nonchalant at the same time.

What superpower would you have and why?
This is easy. I would have Nightcrawler’s (Kurt Wagner) powers and look. Going from place to place, but needing to see it first so there’s structure.

If you could master any skill (that isn’t related to your current job), what would it be and why?
It would be breakdancing. It’s super kool and not everyone can do it.

What does your Saturday night look like during the pandemic?
Naps. I’ve been pregnant so sleeping is the name of my game.

Has how you dressed changed during quarantine? If so, what are you wearing now?
Not really, just less makeup and accessories.

What goals are you working toward at the moment?
I’m trying to model more consistently. And being pregnant and having a successful delivery.

What do you do for self-care?
I like to do art. It really is good for my soul. And I like to care for and check in on my loved ones.

What piece of advice has had the biggest impact on you and why?
That you can’t control anyone or anything but yourself. It hits me most because sometimes you really want things to go a certain way, and when they don’t, it can be crushing if you let it.
