What happens when you give 11 effortlessly cool women a roll of film and ask them to take pictures of underwear? The answer lies in the ninth installment of lingerie brand Araks’s photography book, Lingerie on Film.
This month also marks the brand’s 20th anniversary. Helping them celebrate the moment are celebrities like musicians Kelsey Lu and Lou Doillon, designers Sandy Liang and Nana Yaa, and actress Shailene Woodley. The resulting images look cinematic and feel real, intimate, and playful. Doillon chose to capture her Araks bra strewn across her guitar, while Nana Yaa strapped her lingerie set on a pillow and sculptor Nancy Lupo filled her bra cups with apples.
It isn’t all about the images, either. Araks has partnered with Planned Parenthood, which will receive 100 percent of proceeds from each print sale, and the brand is introducing new product lines made of recycled organic cotton. See some of the intimate photographs below and the entire thing here.
