It was revealed today that Adam Driver, a man of endless talent, has added yet another skill to his docket. Yes, the man can sing, dance, and comfortably consume more than 10,000 calories a day, but according to his Annette co-star Marion Cotillard, he’s also capable of singing and performing (simulated) cunnilingus at the same time.
Annette, a musical by Leos Carax, will premiere today at the Cannes film festival. While reviews are pending, this detail about Driver’s sexual and vocal abilities came courtesy of Cotillard, who said in a recent interview:
Leos wanted everything to be completely live. It added to the complexity of the set: We found ourselves singing in very complicated positions, doing back-crawling or mimicking cunnilingus; acrobatic positions that technically modify your song [the way you sing].
It is unclear why Driver and Cotillard will be doing back bends, but Annette seems to be a very creative affair. It tells the story of a stand-up comedian (Driver) and his wife (Coittillard), a world-famous singer. Their lives are turned upside down following the birth of their child, who — at least in the trailer — seems to be an inanimate doll:
In addition to the cunnilingus-singing stuff, Cotillard said that the film’s characters participate in various other intimate things, such as “sexual tickling,” which, along with the back bends and doll child, leaves me with more questions than answers.
