Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is sitting next to your partner on an adjacent toilet while you both pee, I guess? On a recent episode of the podcast Why Won’t You Date Me?, host Nicole Byer spoke with Meghan Trainor and her brother Ryan about love, family, and their respective dating lives. Ryan is single, while Meghan is an extremely committed relationship.
You see, Meghan is married to actor Daryl Sabara, who you likely know as the younger brother from Spy Kids. (I know. I’ll give you a moment to process, digest, do some light Googling, etc.) When asked if Ryan wants what his sister and Daryl have, he responded with a resounding, absolutely not. “You guys are maniacs,” he said. “It’s way too much. I need my personal space.” Whatever could you mean, Ryan? Then, he said those three little words: “They poop together!!!”
Being the phenomenal podcast host that she is, Byer encouraged Meghan to elaborate. “Nobody knows this,” Meghan said, “but in our bathroom, there was one toilet.” A standard number of toilets for a bathroom at one’s home. She continued, “A lot of the time, in the middle of the night when we’re with the baby, we’ve got to pee at the same time.” What’s a pop star and her Spy Kids husband to do? Why, ask the contractor if they could “please have two toilets next to each other” of course! The contractor apparently laughed, assuming Meghan was joking, but she assured the contractor that she was not. “We got two toilets sitting next to each other,” she said, “and we’ve only pooped together twice.” Only twice! “We pee at the same time a lot.”
Meghan and her husband have never shied away from oversharing. I mean, what else could be the reason for this extremely horny 2019 press release that mentions the couple’s “hot newlywed sex”? If you’d like someone to blame for … all of this, I vote for Chloë Grace Moretz. Meghan said the actress introduced her to her husband.
