It felt like everyone was going to a film premiere this week, and those who did, did not disappoint. The ladies of Passing — Ruth Negga, Tessa Thompson, and director Rebecca Hall — all looked stunning in black dresses. Cynthia Erivo proved florals are always appropriate, even in fall. And Singer Vina Love wore head-to-toe blue at her birthday party. To see more party looks of the week, scroll below.
Most Elegant
Jewels can be hit or miss, but Dever’s use of gems and glitter on this dress is excellent. Plus, this is the season for mock necks.
Best Trio
The Passing actresses and director showed up for their premiere. I love how all three looks work together, and am especially a fan of Hall’s wavy cutout and Thompson’s lace detailing.
Most Likely to Survive Winter
Everything about this outfit is perfect, from the coordinated blue eye shadow to the fur trim. For her own birthday celebration, Vina Love came dressed looking like an ice queen, and honestly, it has me wanting to get a blue trench coat ASAP.
Best Accessorized
The singer known as Blood Orange is always sure to be fitted up, but his addition of the brown fur hat and sunglasses adds a unique element to an otherwise classic black suit.
Best Florals
Now is the time for transitional-weather outfits, and a short dress with tights and boots is always a good option. I just love the frill and fun here.
Outfit We’d Most Like to Steal
Is it the the cinched waist, the square-toe heeled boots, or the circular glasses that draw me in? I can’t tell what I love most about this Tory Burch dress and boots combo, but I love it all.
