Alas, a pop star’s job is never done. Just one week after performing her hit “No Time to Die” in front of Hollywood A-listers at the Oscars in Los Angeles — and taking home the award for Best Original Song — Billie Eilish is in Las Vegas for the Grammys.
Eilish ditched the off-the-shoulder look she wore to the Oscars and instead traded it in for a coat-turned-cape look, with a neck hole cut right behind the collar of what looks like a black trench coat. She completed the dramatic cape look with black shorts and boots, a pair of just-tiny-enough sunglasses, and bangs. (Unrelated, but, should we all get bangs?)
Eilish is nominated for seven awards this year — Record of the Year and Album of the Year, and Best Pop Vocal Album for Happier than Ever, Song of the Year and Best Music Video for the single “Happier Than Ever,” and Best Music Film for Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles. According to Forbes, if Eilish wins Record of the Year, famously one of the most competitive awards of the night, she’ll be the first woman to win the award three times. And she’ll join Paul Simon as the only artists ever to earn the Grammy for Record of the Year three times.
When she took the stage to perform “Happier Than Ever,” Eilish went for a more casual look, wearing a black T-shirt with a photo of the late Foo Fighters drummer, Taylor Hawkins. The subtle tribute was a nice nod to the drummer, who died suddenly on March 25 and was actually supposed to perform with the Foo Fighters at the Grammys. The band canceled their appearance after his death.
