If America’s Next Top Model has taught us anything, it’s that the occasional extreme makeover is part of model life. Getting cast in a fashion show can mean bleached brows, buzz cuts, neon hair dye, or a brand’s monogram shaved or printed into your hair.
At Marc Jacobs’s fall 2022 show, Bella Hadid debuted her most extreme look yet, courtesy of hairstylist Duffy, featuring jet-black hair with angular bangs completely shaved along the sides. Gigi Hadid shared a similar look from the show with the caption “Anything for Marc 🪒.”
The looks left everyone wondering whether the hairstylist got a little too happy with the clippers and possibly a razor. Unfortunately, the very cool cut is only temporary, according to a video the model shared on Instagram. It took multiple steps and multiple people to turn Bella’s long locks into the shaved-head look, as the video indicates.
After tucking her hair away, the team — including makeup artist Noël Jacoboni — meticulously applied a flesh-colored cap to get the bald look, and that was just one part of the process. If you’re trying to get the look at home, we’re guessing a wig, scissors, and bleached brows were the next part.
