Last week, Johnny Depp and Amber Heard wrapped up six long weeks of testimony for their defamation trial. While the jury deliberates their conflicting accounts of abuse — Heard says Depp was violent toward her throughout their relationship, often while drunk or high, while Depp denies ever harming her and claims he was the victim of the violence — Depp seems to have relocated to London, where he has spent the past three nights performing cover songs with his friend and collaborator Jeff Beck. On Tuesday, he was joined by at least one of the friends and acquaintances who testified for him: Kate Moss, who dated Depp from 1994 to 1998.

During the trial, Moss testified via video feed from England, denying a long-circulating rumor that Depp had once pushed her down a flight of stairs while they were on vacation in Jamaica. Heard had mentioned the rumor in her own testimony while describing the first time she hit Depp in the face, saying that she was scared he would throw her sister down the stairs during a fight. (Her sister corroborated the story for the jury.) “I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and stairs, and I swung at him,” Heard said, later clarifying that she had just heard the story as a rumor. In her testimony, Moss said that she slipped down the stairs after a rainstorm, and Depp rushed to help her, carrying her back to her room. “He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs,” she said.

According to the Daily Mail, Moss arrived 90 minutes before Depp went onstage on Tuesday, and they reportedly partied together backstage with Sharon Osbourne after his performance. Moss is not the first celebrity to support Depp publicly during the trial despite the fact that he’s already lost a similar defamation suit in the U.K. In addition to a horde of online fans who have harassed Heard and a few of her expert witnesses, Ireland Baldwin accused Heard of using her “womanhood to play victim” while Bill Burr said on a podcast he hopes Depp “exposes this woman for lying.” A since deleted video of Courtney Love defending Depp’s character also surfaced, which she later apologized for.

Meanwhile, Depp’s Tuesday-night performance received a standing ovation from a packed theater.
