If the past two years have taught us anything about celebrity couples, it is to expect the unexpected. The latest round of post-separation celeb Mad Libs that may or may not have been manufactured by a team of publicists involves Emily Ratajkowski, who recently separated from her producer husband, Sebastian Bear-McClard, and has allegedly been on some dates with Brad Pitt.
In July, after Ratajkowski was spotted walking around New York without her wedding ring, ”Page Six” claimed she’d split with Bear-McClard after finding out he’d cheated on her. The couple shares a 1-year-old son, Sylvester. Meanwhile, Pitt is embroiled in a lengthy custody battle with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie, with whom he shares six children. Most recently, documents from their case revealed details about a 2016 plane ride in which Jolie alleges Pitt choked one of their kids, hit one of them in the face, and poured beer on her. (Pitt has repeatedly denied the allegations.)
At the end of August, OK! claimed that Pitt and EmRata were “secretly dating” amid her impending divorce and that Pitt had been into her since they had a little chat at the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscar party. According to its source, once she was separated, “he asked her out, and she said yes. She’s always thought Brad was cute, and the way she saw it, what did she have to lose?”
Pitt and Ratajkowski are now rumored to have gone on “a few dates,” with People adding a conflicting account of how they met: “a friend in the art world.” Huh! Per People, they’re both “very into art” and have “a lot to talk about,” and there’s definitely, totally “an attraction.” This was followed by more reports that EmRata “has the vibes that Brad likes,” and she is “having fun” because there’s “nothing like Brad Pitt cheering you up” while you’re divorcing your cheating movie-producer husband. Perhaps they’re also having some heated debates about the movie Blonde, which Pitt produced and Ratajkowski recently criticized for “fetishizing female pain”? Things to think about!
At this point, everyone in Hollywood is into each other’s “vibes,” and celebrity-couple rumors sound less like tabloid fodder and more like a game of Clue. Here’s a guess for my next turn: Gisele Bündchen with Chris Pine at Carbone! I’d say the odds are high.
