10 Things You Don’t Have to Pay Full Price for This Weekend

We’re deep in Capricorn season, which means we all can benefit from the goat’s overachieving nature and get in our bags, too — figuratively and literally. Because while there are a handful of sales this weekend that carry true winter staples (e.g., wide-leg pants and affordable knits), we couldn’t help but notice this weekend is a gold mine when it comes to accessories. Whether you’re in the market for a new party purse or want an everyday bag that is Cut Shop–approved, Coach, Mansur Gavriel, and By Far are offering up to 60 percent off on select items. So while Mercury might be in retrograde, your closet doesn’t have to be. I’m no astrologer; I’m just a shopping enabler.

Dermstore

You have until January 16 to score an extra 10 percent off select items on Dermstore’s sale section. We’ve skimmed the ten pages available and have come to the conclusion that the best deal is this limited-edition NuFace. Well worth the hype, the line-smoothing device treats fine lines and wrinkles and helps plump lips in just three minutes. If you were on the edge of purchasing one during the holidays but ended up spending your money on other gifts, now is the time to try the beauty brand out.

Coach

If the ’80s cartoon Muzzy were a bag, it would be this shearling one from Coach that happens to be 50 percent off. The shoulder bag almost everyone has been trying to get their hands on comes in two plush colorways with a smooth leather interior and two straps so it can easily be a shoulder or cross-body bag.

Bloomingdale’s

Cut Shop contributor Harling Ross has written about the wonders of shopping for texture during the winter. If you want to go down the texture route, try incorporating this Simon Miller dress into your wardrobe. Mix and match this fuzzy dress with even fuzzier and bolder accessories like this furry shoulder bag, which is also on sale.

Cuup

One of the Cut Shop’s (and writer Tyler McCall’s) favorite bras for larger breasts is on sale during Cuup’s end-of-season sale. The plunge is a favorite for its flattering but still supportive silhouette, breathable mesh material, and barely there underwire. You can grab one (or two) in multiple colors for up to 65 percent off.

Everlane

When you need affordable cashmere, you know you can count on Everlane. This classic is a blend of very soft (and warm) recycled cashmere that you can layer over tees and tanks. We love the relaxed fit and color options; we highly suggest this brown shade that will pair perfectly with brown leather boots.

Mansur Gavriel

If you saw that Mansur Gavriel added six new shades to the brand’s beloved Cloud Clutch but you’re still on a budget, it currently has select colorways up to 40 percent off during its last-chance sale. The best seller comes with a removable strap so you can use the bag as a clutch, cross-body, belt, or shoulder bag. The standard bag fits all your essentials, and there’s a mini size if you need a new going-out purse.

Missoma

These might be a bit pricier than Harling Ross’s tried-and-true J.Crew hoops, but I can vouch they are just as good. Every time I wear any of my Missoma jewelry I get tons of compliments, including and not restricted to its hoop earrings.

By Far

By Far’s Rachel bag might be celebs’ favorite street-style accessory. However, the brand’s Amber bag is hands down a personal favorite. The length of the strap makes it fall perfectly on the side of your body, and it’s big enough to wear even with puffer jackets. The amount of things I can stuff in it is impressive.

Gimaguas

You might associate the Spanish brand with summer attire. However, Gimaguas currently has great winter garments on sale when you use the code PrivateWinter22. Consider this knit dress made of a blend of mohair and alpaca that you can pair with knee-high boots or leg warmers and flats; we already have a million outfit ideas for this.

The Frankie Shop

Time to work on your suit game and add the oversize Frankie Shop numbers you’ve been eyeing but didn’t want to pay full price for. Whether you shop the brand’s own sale or check what SSENSE or Net-a-Porter have discounted, now’s the time to channel Lydia Tár’s frigid-bitch aesthetic.
