Last year, Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson were the undisputed stars of the Met Gala. Remember the Marilyn dress? The little kiss they gave us on the red carpet? What a difference a year makes. The pair broke up last August, but they did run into each other at this year’s event, where they were photographed having an amicable little chat with Usher.
Despite teasing that she would bring North as her date, Kim walked this year’s carpet alone, wearing a pearly Schiaparelli ensemble that reminded many fans of her infamous 2007 Playboy cover shoot. (She’s still doing amazing, sweetie.) Pete, who, following an inevitable fling with Emily Ratajkowski, has most recently been seen riding roller coasters with Chase Sui Wonders, also showed up solo, dressed in a trench coat, Fendi T-shirt, and bucket hat.
The two looked friendly enough during their run-in, smiling and apparently engrossed in their conversation. What were the two reminiscing about, I wonder? Reigning over the Staten Island pizza circuit? Ice cream runs at Rite Aid or double dates with Jeff Bezos? Whatever the case, it had me oddly nostalgic for the Kim-and-Pete era.
