The season of summer parties in the Hamptons may be coming to an end, but we’re weeks away from NYFW — and days away from the U.S. Open — ushering in a new season of star-studded parties and very good looks. This week, the stars are in their most sparkly, shiny, pretty looks with Farfetch, Luar, the Met, and more.
Best Color Coordination: Kimberly Drew
On Wednesday night, renowned graffiti artist Futura took the mic in front of hip-hop heavyweights Nas and Timbaland to remember that 50 years ago, to the month, hip-hop was founded at a house party in the Bronx. The event celebrated the anniversary by creating a vinyl, sold at Farfetch, featuring songs that are pivotal to the genre. The food was provided by Jon Gray of Ghetto Gastro and included a play on jerk chicken and rice. In attendance were Kimberly Drew, Lynette Nylander, and more.
Best Maternity Style: Vashtie Kola
At the same event, Kola does her own take on the Canadian tuxedo complete with a matching bag.
Best Beach Party
Eiza Gonzalez hosted a beachside party with Bulgari and posed alongside Brigette Romanek, Steph Shepherd, Aurora James, and Isabella Boylston. Perhaps the best way to enjoy a beach party, sans sand, is to choose the right venue; they opted for Little Beach House.
Best Luxury Backdrop
Whenever you have the opportunity to pose against a hot-pink luxury car, you should take it. Anna Molinari, Uniekue, and Valerie Zhang took a moment to seize this opportunity at the Luar x Emcee event to celebrate their collab.
Best Group Photo
We’re guessing there was a strict dress code at Justine Skye’s birthday party at the Nice Guy. The singer celebrated with some close celebrity friends, bottles of Belvedere vodka and Volcan X.A tequila, and a sheer black dress.
Best Pre-Fall Fit: Phoebe Tonkin
To fête the face of Anthropologie, Phoebe Tonkin, the brand hosted an event complete with Polaroids, cocktails, and transitional-season dresses.
Model Off Duty: Aoki Lee Simmons
Besides literally being a model, another key to a good photo is a good backdrop — consider this disco-ball wall at the Summerfest After Dark party. While guests enjoyed a few photo-worthy moments, there was also a pizza truck and espresso martinis courtesy of Casa Del Sol.
Best Live Performance
One of the many perks of a good fashion party is good music to go with your cocktails and canapés. Guests at the Met x PacSun’s event were treated to a performance by Infinity Song and a little art lesson.
Best Suits: Common and Mark Ronson
We’ve already tackled what to wear to the U.S. Open, but U.S. Open parties? Maybe take a few notes from Common and Mark Ronson at the IHG Athletic Club kickoff party and lean into the casual-but-still-polished looks.
Best Denim: Coco Bassey
An event by Frame calls for denim, and content creator Coco Bassey paired her high-waisted jeans with a pointed-toe heel.
Most Preppy: Mandy Madden Kelley
Bandier gathered guests in Beverly Hills to fête the Lacoste x Bandier collection. Naturally, the dress code called for tenniscore and there were many pleated skirts.
Best All-Black Outfit: Rebecca Minkoff
To celebrate one year of by dria with Saks, guests headed up to Scarpetta Beach inside Gurney’s Montauk resort. While there were many summery cocktail dresses, Rebecca Minkoff’s all-black look is our idea of a summer outfit.
