In 2021, Brooklyn’s Greenpoint neighborhood gained a one-stop-shop for hosting when Katherine Lewin opened Big Night. The store carries everything from glassware to tinned fish, cookbooks to robes and slippers. Katherine, who self describes as a “definitely not perfect host and cook,” founded the business with the goal of making all nights in feel as special and celebratory as the big nights out. Four years in, Katherine has grown Big Night into a thriving business with a second location in the West Village. She also recently published Dinners, Parties & Dinner Parties, a cookbook for elevated hosting and unforgettable celebrations. In this special video edition of the column presented by Intuit Quickbooks, she gives the Cut a look inside her store and tells us how she gets it all done.
