Andrew Garfield, professor of the unofficial master class on flirting, likes all different types of women. Models. Oscar-winning actresses. Influencers who host talk shows out of chicken shops. What diverse taste this man has acquired. As of this cursed election year, however, he has also taken to witches — that is, one particular “professional witch” named Dr. Kate Tomas. And despite her occupation (which she has described on her website as “spiritual mentor” to the rich and famous), Tomas would like the record to show that no, she did not use magic on that man.
In a new interview with the Sunday Times of London, the 42-year-old denied online accusations that she had used her powers to seduce Garfield — a topic she’d recently discussed on her podcast, The Friday Emails. Previously, Tomas had offered a pricey master class on seduction to her Fortune 500 and celebrity clients. But after paparazzi photos linked her to the Spider-Man actor in late March, she was forced to remove the offering from her website. Suddenly and very publicly attached to a high-profile actor who looks good on red carpets for a living, she swiftly received online hate. And most of that hate, Tomas noted, was hurled at her by other women. “Fucking hell, nothing could prepare me for having literally thousands of women telling me I’m ugly, I’m unattractive, I’m less than in every conceivable way,” she told the Sunday Times.
“It’s frustrating that no matter how accomplished or impactful a woman is, it’s always going to be more interesting if they are in a relationship with a man,” she told the Sunday Times of the “misogynistic nature” of the internet backlash. “I don’t want to sit under anybody’s shadow.”
As a reminder, this woman has her master’s in Philosophy of Religion and her doctorate in Philosophical Theology from Oxford, which sounds like someone you probably don’t want to mess with. Besides, if you’ve seen the video of Garfield and Amelia Dimoldenberg flirting at the 2023 Golden Globes, is it so hard to believe that Garfield seduced Dr. Tomas, and not the other way around? Here’s to letting this woman get back to what really matters: her $895 “magickal talismans” and studies in the “Hermeneutics of Empowerment in Christian Mysticism!”
