Devastation continues to reign in Los Angeles as fires tear through the city, with 179,000 residents currently under evacuation orders, per CBS. Alongside the Eaton fire in Altadena and a new brush fire in the Hollywood Hills, the Palisades fire, which sparked Tuesday in the Pacific Palisades, has since leveled entire grids of houses and businesses. Among those affected is Paris Hilton, who confirmed Wednesday that her Malibu home burnt down. While the beachfront property is not Hilton’s main residence, the 43-year-old said she was “heartbroken beyond words.”
“Sitting with my family, watching the news, and seeing our home in Malibu burn to the ground on live TV is something no one should ever have to experience,” she wrote on Instagram. “This home was where we built so many precious memories. It’s where Phoenix took his first steps and where we dreamed of building a lifetime of memories with London.”
“While the loss is overwhelming, I’m holding onto gratitude that my family is safe. My heart and prayers are going out to every family affected by these fires … to all the people who have lost their homes, their memories, and their beloved pets,” Hilton added. “My heart aches for those still in harm’s way or mourning greater losses. The devastation is unimaginable.”
Billy Crystal and Eugene Levy have also reportedly lost their homes in the wealthy enclave. Heidi and Spencer Pratt have been posting through the wildfires all week, confirming Tuesday that they, too, had lost their Palisades home. While winds calmed significantly on Thursday, officials expect continued blazes over the next few days.
