Tons of A-listers have been throwing their support behind Kamala Harris in the final hours leading up to Election Day. Oprah Winfrey, Lady Gaga, and Ricky Martin went to a rally in Philadelphia, Christina Aguilera pulled out a new rendition of “Fighter” at a rally in Las Vegas, and Katy Perry managed not to perform “Woman’s World” onstage in Pittsburgh. Usher, Eminem, and Bruce Springsteen have also shown up at rallies in recent weeks, and of course, Beyoncé graced the crowd with her presence at a recent Harris rally in Houston. That’s all great — but where is Taylor Swift?
The stars aligned in a way where a Swift appearance the day before the election would have made perfect sense. She played her final U.S. show of the Eras Tour Sunday night in Indianapolis and has an open schedule until she performs in Toronto on November 14. Despite the twang on her early albums, Swift was raised in a Philadelphia suburb, giving her ties to one of the most important states in the election. If anyone could sway the white women of Bucks County to vote for Harris, it’s Swift. There’s no doubt in my mind that the Harris campaign tried their damndest to get her there, too. However, it appears Swift decided against making a last-minute appearance in support of the vice-president. Instead, she spent Monday night at a football game in Kansas City, cheering on her boyfriend alongside her Trump-y friend Brittany Mahomes and Mahomes’s mother-in-law, who showed up to the game wearing a MAGA hat. At least, you are thinking, Taylor wore some custom Harris merch? Nope, just a leather Chiefs bomber and cowboy boots.
Swift has already endorsed Harris — and in a Monday night post wrapping up yet another leg of her Eras Tour, she tacked on a “friendly but extremely important reminder that tomorrow is the US election and your last chance to vote.” Guess that is all we’re going to get!
