The Spirit Halloween stores have barely set up camp, and even Mariah Carey isn’t ready for the holidays, but Hollywood is already full steam ahead on Christmas cheer. On Wednesday, People published photos of Chad Michael Murray going full Magic Mike in a holiday movie about strippers. I’d say it’s time to get those tree decorations out, don’t you think?
The film in question is The Merry Gentleman, a Netflix rom-com that involves Murray helping a “former big-city dancer” (Britt Robertson) save her parents’ small-town performance venue by putting on an “all-male Christmas-themed revue” starring, I presume, his abs. Do you think that six-pack can rescue a struggling small business, one thrust at a time? I’ll bet! Maybe he’ll restore Britt Robertson’s faith in family, community, and the magic of Christmas in the process. Though Murray confessed that he has “never danced professionally,” he apparently trained for six hours a day to nail this role, because “I love a good challenge.” Don’t we all.
