If you’re in a situationship that needs defining this Valentine’s Day, Valentino and Dream Baby Press have come up with the perfect concoction to get some answers. Instead of a “so what are we” text, or maybe even a late-night “wyd,” just send a love letter.
Dream Baby Press for Valentino is a special holiday-series collaboration between the luxury brand and the cult-followed literary company founded in 2022 by Matt Starr. Six others — including Starr, Jemima Kirke, Brontez Purnell, and Mackenzie Thomas — wrote their version of a love poem, available to customize with names online or in stores like New York, Miami, Paris, and London.
But beware, these poems are not for the faint of heart. And they are not for your friends (unless you and your friends already know too much about each other). Since I am single, I decided to input friends’ names and send them the letters, but I quickly realized these are way too intense to send as jokes. Especially since you don’t know what letter you’re going to get. The only one that I could forward to the intended recipient was Kirke’s, which reads: “Dear X / I guess this is goodbye / I’m going to miss you / But I know I’ll see you in hell.” The rest are on a spectrum of extremely horny or extremely heartfelt, meaning they’re not even appropriate for my crushes. But I went through the liberty of compiling all six options.
